Performs support activities of the continuous casting operation such as tundish assembly and preheating or placing dummy bars, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
- Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations.
- Carry out duties in an effective manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
- Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
- Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy.
- Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
- Attend and collaborate in training activities in order to maintain and increase the company knowledge.
- Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
- Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.
- Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.
Main Activities:
- Executes change over and set up of the machine.
- Performs machine operation.
- Carries out steel casting into solid billets.
- Controls materials.
- Connects ladle services.
- Measures temperature and takes steel samples.
- Performs machine and emergency tests.
- Prepares and assembles tundish.
- Dries tundish and follows up tundish pre heating.
- Assists repairs of the secondary cooling such as nozzle and segments replacement.
- Assists steel cleanness on punctures.
- Carries out ladle opening with oxygen.
- Controls tundish steel level and the correct operation of the tundish slag entrance detection system.
- Places dummy bars.
- Cuts bars manually when necessary.
- Assists machine lock outs and tag outs and does operative maintenance.
- Updates information in the tracking systems.
